God and the Search

It didn’t look good. For three long days we had been searching for our fifteen-year-old son, Tom, who had disappeared in the woods while deer hunting. It was as if God had thrown a curtain over Tom, shielding him from us. After three days of intense searching , the sheriff, his personnel and the ambulance drove out the lane. Relatives kindly told us we need to accept the fact that we might never find Tom. It was hard. Terribly hard! How could we go back to work, not knowing if our son was alive or dead? What would the morrow bring? God only knew.
